About
Tomas Koeck is an SPJ award-winning filmmaker, Canon USA-backed photographer, speaker/presenter, and expeditionist. In simpler terms, he’s a storyteller, an environmentalist, and, most importantly, an optimist.
He has been on assignment for National Geographic, Smithsonian Channel, PBS Nature, and others covering stories throughout North America and seeks to give a voice to wildlife through journalism, storytelling, and advocacy.
Koeck strives to be involved and integrated in the communications and natural history field. He is a fellow at the Explorers Club, a 2026 EC50 Awardee presented by ROLEX and is also an inductee in the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Association Honors Society.
A two-time recipient for "Excellence in Journalism" by the Society of Professional Journalists, other honors include the Sacred Heart University Gold Medal of Excellence, the highest honor at the University Yale University Centerpiece Film.
